Background

Kesem at Pitt is a non-profit organization led by passionate college students that provides support for children through and beyond a parent’s cancer. Their flagship program Camp Kesem is a week-long overnight summer camp for kids age 6-18. All services are provided at no cost to families.

My Role

As Alumni, Marketing, and PR (AMP) coordinator, I was responsible for:

  • Designing and executing annual communication plan to relevant chapter stakeholders including Newsletters, Blogs, Social Media activities (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)

  • Supporting chapter leadership team through deployment of marketing and publicity resources in support of chapter goals

  • Maintaining chapter’s kesem.org webpage

  • Leading chapter’s publicity efforts including pitching local media outlets, writing and disseminating press releases, and cultivating local media contacts
